Stress Relief Tips

August 26th, 2008

With how busy we keep ourselves on a day to day basis, it’s no wonder that so many of us suffer from stress. Stress is something that is almost impossible to avoid, because of the way that we are wired. With that said though stress can be easily dealt with in many ways.

Exercise - Exercise always pops into articles like this: That’s because it’s important. Exercise has the ability to relax both your mind and your body. One of the big advantages that exercise has is that it forces you to get out, and to maintain some balance. If your working a lot, and are having a hard time getting other things done in life, you can easily make a deal with yourself to get out for a walk everyday at lunch time. This will allow you to clear your head and be more focused in your work, and also it will allow you time to relax, spend some time with nature, and remember that a physical wellness has a huge impact on mental wellness

Reward - Reward yourself. Too often we get into patterns where we work too much, sleep to little, and run our body into the ground. Take breaks daily, weekly, monthly. Get up during the day from your work, and get in a walk. Take a weekend get away to freshen up your mind from your work. Take a yearly trip to experience something different from the 9-5 grind back home. I understand that not all of these things are capable but they are all possible in moderation and with:

Balance - Living a balanced life is very important to maintain limited stress. Balance doesn’t mean trying to do too many things at once. Balance means not living all work and no play. Balance your life with work, family, friends, exercise, hobbies, etc.

Values - Take a moment to think about the things that are the most important for you in your life. Often times when we are living off the wall and not by our values there is an increase of stress in our days.

Planning - Who ever said “fail to plan, plan to fail” was on the ball. There is also an element of stress in unplanned situations. Unknowns cause us to worry, and to get stressed out about situations that we could have taken a little time to plan ahead for seems silly - doesn’t it?

New Opportunity For Vending Cart Operators!

August 25th, 2008

It is not often that new markets just appear in any industry and in the food industry - it is unheard of. A new, quite lucrative, market is opening for vending cart operators and surprisingly it is a market that does not require any additional investment in capital equipment.

Historically the basic operating methodology for a vending cart operator has been to identify a location that day in and day out had heavy pedestrian or vehicular (providing a parking location is readily available) traffic, set-up their cart and wait for their first customer to stop and buy something. Location has always been the primary key to success.

The new blossoming market for vending cart operators is private events. Everything from birthday and anniversary parties, company picnics, little league sports events, and boys and girls clubs outings. Rather than the vending cart operator standing on a street corner or operating out of the parking lot of a local big box retailer, the group or individual holding the event contracts with the vending cart operator to supply food services at their event.

There are many advantageous to this new market. The vending cart operator is usually contracted and paid by the group or someone on behalf of the group. The group will generally commit to a minimum number of products to be sold and have an agreed to price per item. At the end of the event, the operator simply submits the bill to the group and receives payment. The operator does not have to deal with cash at the same time that he is providing food service. Operators who have locations that are weekday busy - Monday through Friday, now have the opportunity to put there vending carts into operation evenings and weekends and because there is no additional capital outlay to service the new market, the net profit increases dramatically.

If there is any investment at all, it is relatively minimal and is only in advertising, making sure that potential clients, in this new market, are aware that the vending cart operator exists and how to contact them. In this case, I believe that Yellow Page listings are the best and most economical method to obtain recognition.

Although the initial popularity has been hotdog and barbeque product vending carts, the market is expanding to include smokers, other cooking methods and food products. If you are a vending cart operator, private events are definitely a market that you should consider.

8 Essential Skills for Managing ADD

August 21st, 2008

So many adults with ADD find themselves chronically overwhelmed with every day life. This means that they generally wake up feeling like they are running behind on all the things they need to do, spend the whole day on high speed in order to get all those things done, and yet still go to bed most nights feeling like they never got anywhere. Or, they spend the whole day in a fog, constantly aware of all the things on that to-do list, but never mustering up the motivation to tackle the tasks. This leaves them feeling unorganized, unproductive, unhappy, lazy, guilty, and…the list goes on.

I used to be one of those people. Constantly overwhelmed and always disorganized. Through dedication, hard work, and lots of time and practice, I’ve gotten to a place in my life where I know how to manage my ADD. (The key word here is “manage.”) Through both my personal and professional work, I’ve isolated what I believe are 8 Essential Skills for Managing ADD. Today I’d like to share them with you:

1. Slow Down

ADDers seem to always be operating on over-drive…mentally, physically, or both. In my opinion, slowing down when you feel speedy, stressed, overwhelmed, etc. is the first and most necessary skill for managing ADD.

2. Practice Excellent Self-Care

ADDers are prone to putting themselves last. Why is this? How will you ever “get it together” if you don’t dedicate time and energy to yourself?

3. Know Your Own ADD

ADD affects us all in different ways. You can’t effectively manage ADD without being aware of the specific ways in which it affects you, and the specific ways in which your challenges are triggered.

4. Actively Use Your Learning and Processing Modalities

Identifying the natural modalities in which you are able to sustain focus and process information and feelings will make your personal and professional lives much easier.

5. Focus on Your Strengths

Everyone has strengths, skills, talents, and passions. Increasing the time you spend on these good things will increase both your self-esteem and your happiness.

6. Think Positively

Patterns of negative thinking can be reversed. Negative thinking will hold you back. Positive thinking will propel you forward.

7. Plan the Time to Plan…Everything

Planning doesn’t always come easily to ADDers. Developing tools and systems for planning will streamline organization and time management, but you have to take it one step further and plan the time to use them.

8. Take Risks

This doesn’t refer to speed racing or skydiving! It refers to stepping outside your comfort zone and doing things that may be uncomfortable, like asking for that raise, taking up that new hobby, or pursuing that life-long passion. If you don’t take the risk, you won’t get the reward.

Holiday Soul Snacks

August 19th, 2008

Soul Snacks are spontaneous time-outs: creative ways
you can nurture your spirit in 15 minutes or less.

Here’s a week’s worth, specially designed
to help you balance the busy-ness this holiday season.

Day One

What are your favorite holiday memories? Pose the
question tonight at the dinner table. Use your family’s
answers to plan this year’s celebration. You may be
surprised at the special memories that have nothing
to do with gifts or elaborate events.

Day Two

For fifteen minutes, write down things in your life that you are grateful for.

Day Three

Bundle up and head outside. Make snow angels or build
a snow fort with your kids. When it’s time to warm up,
build a cozy fire and roast marshmallows in your
living room.

Day Four

What’s your favorite homemade holiday treat? Write down
the recipe, and share it with your friends. Encourage
them to do the same.

Day Five

Challenge each member of your family to fill a box or bag
full of items to give away. Decide as a family where to
make a donation.

Day Six

Get out and enjoy the crisp winter air today, all by
yourself. Listen to the crunch of snow underfoot. And
treat yourself to a steaming mug of hot chocolate (with
marshmallows) when you return.

Day Seven

What was the favorite book you read this year?
With whom would you most like to share its message?
Purchase a copy for them and drop it off…anonymously.

Taking just a bit of time each day to nurture yourself
will ensure you enjoy every last fa-la-la during
this magical season. Happy holidays!

Go for a new house with easy loan, 380953 euro is not a problem

August 18th, 2008

It is a transfer of an interest in land, from the owner to the mortgage lender, on the condition that this interest will be returned to the owner of the real estate when the terms of the mortgage have been satisfied or performed.

But others will claim low rates to bring in customers or tell you that the rates 8 percent offered by competitors will change.

So how do you find a lender or broker you can trust’ See mortgage loan for residential mortgage lending, and commercial mortgage for lending against commercial property. Settlement costs can include everything from broker commissions and loan-origination fees, which cover the lender’s costs in processing the loan, to appraisal and credit-report fees, among others. Different lenders charge different fees.

Brokers work with many mortgage bankers and, as a result, can sometimes find slightly more competitive rates 7 percent perhaps lower but dealing directly with a mortgage banker can move a loan along more quickly. In most jurisdictions mortgages are strongly associated with loans 4 percent secured on real estate rather than other property and in some cases only land may be mortgaged. Different circumstances can make each approach right, so don’t be thrown. Some will quote you precise, competitive rates 8 percent. Start with credibility. It’s not easy to know if the prices quoted by lenders are reliable. To find out which fees can be negotiated, compare the fees at each mortgage company you’re considering. Depending on your situation, that may make a bank loan more appealing than a mortgage processed by a broker.

Many of these fees are fixed but some can be negotiated.

Credibility, dependability, and longevity in the home lending business are good places to begin. Although most mortgage experts say that rates 7 percent are pretty much the same wherever you go, give or take this tiny 8 percentage. Arranging a mortgage is seen as the standard method by which individuals and businesses can purchase residential and commercial real estate without the need to pay the full value immediately. See which lenders are charging fees 5 percent and for how much. And of course, each loan and each borrower are different. Both banks and brokers have their strengths and weaknesses. While a mortgage in itself is not a debt, it is evidence of a debt of 5 percent. A mortgage is the pledging of a property to a lender as a security for a mortgage loan for 9 percent. In other words, the mortgage is a security for the loan that the lender makes to the borrower.

Analyzing Website Traffic

August 15th, 2008

Analyzing your web traffic statistics can be an invaluable tool for a number of different reasons. But before you can make full use of this tool, you need to understand how to interpret the data.

Most web hosting companies will provide you with basic web traffic information that you then have to interpret and make pertinent use of. However, the data you receive from your host company can be overwhelming if you don’t understand how to apply it to your particular business and website. Let’s start by examining the most basic data - the
average visitors to your site on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

These figures are the most accurate measure of your website’s activity. It would appear on the surface that the more traffic you see recorded, the better you can assume your website is doing, but this is an inaccurate
perception. You must also look at the behavior of your visitors once they come to your website to accurately gauge the effectiveness of your site.

There is often a great misconception about what is commonly known as “hits” and what is really effective, quality traffic to your site. Hits simply means the number of information requests received by the server. If you think about the fact that a hit can simply equate to the number of graphics per page, you will get an idea of how overblown the concept of hits can be. For example, if your homepage has 15 graphics on it, the server records this as 15 hits, when in reality we are talking about a single visitor checking out a single page on your site. As you can see, hits are not useful in analyzing your website traffic.

The more visitors that come to your website, the more accurate your interpretation will become. The greater the traffic is to your website, the more precise your analysis will be of overall trends in visitor behavior. The smaller the number of visitors, the more a few anomalous visitors
can distort the analysis.

The aim is to use the web traffic statistics to figure out how well or how poorly your site is working for your visitors. One way to determine this is to find out how long on average your visitors spend on your site. If the time
spent is relatively brief, it usually indicates an underlying problem. Then the challenge is to figure out what that problem is.

It could be that your keywords are directing the wrong type of visitors to your website, or that your graphics are confusing or intimidating, causing the visitor to exit rapidly. Use the knowledge of how much time visitors are
spending on your site to pinpoint specific problems, and after you fix those problems, continue to use time spent as a gauge of how effective your fix has been.

Additionally, web traffic stats can help you determine effective and ineffective areas of your website. If you have a page that you believe is important, but visitors are exiting it rapidly, that page needs attention. You could, for example, consider improving the link to this page by making the link more noticeable and enticing, or you could improve the look of the page or the ease that your visitors can access the necessary information on that page.

If, on the other hand, you notice that visitors are spending a lot of time on pages that you think are less important, you might consider moving some of your sales copy and marketing focus to that particular page.

As you can see, these statistics will reveal vital information about the effectiveness of individual pages, and visitor habits and motivation. This is essential information to any successful Internet marketing campaign.

Your website undoubtedly has exit pages, such as a final order or contact form. This is a page you can expect your visitor to exit rapidly. However, not every visitor to your site is going to find exactly what he or she is looking
for, so statistics may show you a number of different exit pages. This is normal unless you notice a exit trend on a particular page that is not intended as an exit page. In the case that a significant percentage of visitors are exiting your website on a page not designed for that
purpose, you must closely examine that particular page to discern what the problem is. Once you pinpoint potential weaknesses on that page, minor modifications in content or graphic may have a significant impact on the keeping visitors moving through your site instead of exiting at the
wrong page.

After you have analyzed your visitor statistics, it’s time to turn to your keywords and phrases. Notice if particular keywords are directing a specific type of visitor to your site. The more targeted the visitor - meaning that they find what they are looking for on your site, and even better, fill out your contact form or make a purchase - the more valuable that keyword is.

However, if you find a large number of visitors are being directed - or should I say misdirected - to your site by a particular keyword or phrase, that keyword demands adjustment. Keywords are vital to bringing quality visitors to your site who are ready to do business with you. Close analysis of the keywords your visitors are using to find your site will give you a vital understanding of your visitor’s needs and motivations.

Finally, if you notice that users are finding your website by typing in your company name, break open the champagne! It means you have achieved a significant level of brand recognition, and this is a sure sign of burgeoning success.

Event Marketing: Nobody Ever Knows They Got Joining Instructions

August 10th, 2008

It’s true! Ask any delegate whether they got their joining instructions and they’ll look at you blankly. If you explain that we sent you a letter describing the event and how to get here; a small glimmer of light starts to burn. This piece of event jargon is one of the few technical terms that delegates don’t really need to know about.

To give your delegates complete confidence that your event is well organized and that their every need has been considered, it is well worth the preparation time to design comprehensive joining instructions. Not only should this limit the number of calls and emails to clarify small details about the event, it will also help to orientate the delegates to the venue and the overall shape of the event before they arrive.

Joining instructions should clearly describe all of the following:

• The title of the event.

• The date and programmed start and finish times for the event.

• The name and address of the venue.

• Telephone number(s) for the venue.

• Travel directions and approximate travel times for automobile, train and air travelers.

• Recommended accommodation within easy reach of the event.

• Recommended local restaurants and other facilities like gyms, spas, swimming pools, movie complexes.

• Any local attractions or places of interest.

• Dress code for the event (if appropriate).

• Any preparation the delegates need to undertake prior to the event.

• Any material the delegates should bring for use in the event (if required).

• A reminder to bring proof of registration.

If possible keep your joining instructions as one document to ensure that information is not lost. It may be easy to include the venue’s own details as part of the package but remember that the joining instructions are as important a piece of marketing as any of your published materials. If you can have them printed on good quality paper, branded with your event logo, clearly laid out and free from factual and typographical errors you will be reinforcing your professionalism, expertise and focus on delegate satisfaction.

Delegate information gathering

The booking process is also an ideal opportunity to learn more about your delegates and their reasons for attending. People will feel that they are getting more value for their money if the event addresses their pet issues. Your presenters will also welcome the opportunity to make the material come alive by stimulating audience participation through the additional intelligence that can be gathered at this time.

This, of course, means that your booking administrators need to be more than just box tickers. They should be personable, chatty people who can engage the delegates in conversation and who are able to listen actively to what they are being told. They may not be experts in the subject themselves but if they were that would be ideal.

So don’t scare your delegates with jargon; make them feel cared for and part of the process to get the most out of your event.

Laser Sharpen Your Billiards Aiming

August 10th, 2008

Star Wars comes to billiards with the new laser markers that make a lot of homemaker tasks easier. The laser beam is housed in a device that looks like a tape measure or a flat can-like container. Both project a perfectly straight line on any surface without leaving a mark.

They are handy for hanging pictures and laying tile, but wait until you see what you can do with one on a pool table!

Correct a Defective Center ball Hit

Knowing you are hitting the exact center of the cue ball is imperative to a good stroke and accurately hitting your object ball. Even if you have to rely on English for a specific shot, you need to know you hit your exact target on the cue ball.

Most of us know that when we miss a shot and it bounces off the horn of the pocket, it is because we were off just slightly on the pinpoint we were targeting on the cue ball or the object ball.

This is the last spot you have control over to make the shot you are planning.

So how do you know you are aiming at a pinpoint and not a dime-sized spot on the cue ball?

Let the laser show you.

Set up the laser this time on the end rail so it points down table from diamond to diamond.
You should probably use a stool to get your laser up to rail height without the potential of knocking it onto the floor because it was sitting on the rail. You will be shooting from the other end of the table towards the laser.

In either case you will have a thin red line that runs the length of the table.

That is your target line for a shot with the cue ball. Also notice the laser runs the line up to the top of your cue ball, When you line up the shot make sure your cue is aligned with the red line.

A double check on your aim is to quickly glance up from the spot on the cue ball. If your shooting eye is directly over your cue which is aligned along the target line, you will get a flash of red as it looks directly into the laser.

When you pull the trigger you should see the cue ball roll right down the red line, bounce off the end rail and return down the red line to hit the end of your cue.

Just because you have it redlined, doesn’t mean you have to stroke the ball hard, just accurately.

Straighten out Your Cut Shots With A Laser

Following the little red line also works well with cut shots and placing that laser behind a corner pocket can give you many practice opportunities.

To start with, set up the laser so it points straight out from the center of the pocket at a 45-degree angle and directly into the side pocket. Now, take a mirror you can stand in the side pocket and point it so the reflected laser line lines up with the original from the laser.

Center an object ball on that line.

The line will fade out beyond the object ball, but you can imagine the line’s position on the target side of the ball. But with the mirror, the reflected line will go right up to your object ball and reflect the line up the contact side of the ball. Use that line to establish the contact point for your cut shot into the corner pocket.

This is where you need to use care. See the line in your mind. Its location is something you want to memorize. It is your contact point.

Now try a shot.

Once you get this down so you can consistently deliver the object ball into the center of the pocket, shift the laser and mirror to change the angle to 30 degrees.

The possibilities are endless; try as many angles as you can, move the ball along the line to change the distance. Try a full table length cut shot. Try the same shot angles with a side pocket.

Just follow the red line, you will be amazed at how good you can get.

Over time, you will find yourself looking for the pinpoint of your target and not just a general spot. If you set this drill up correctly, you will find center ball hits become a lot easier and you will resist over cutting or under cutting your cut shots.
